Glenelg now a days

Today we took the tram out to Glenelg to have a look round and what we saw was very disappointing. Gone is the old look and has been replaced with high-rise buildings. This look now spoils the area in my opinion and I will be happier to find a less built up area when visiting a beach.

Trees are gone and though its still a lovely clean beach. Lots of shops and too commercial for me now.

Hi and wow! I was just wandering around the blog and found this. I used to go to Glenelg as a kid on holidays from Melbourne, then later when we lived in Whyalla. OMG has Glenelg changed even since the last time I went in 2001. I remember staying at the La Mancha which was on the beach front in the late 70s.

I recently moved from the Sunshine Coast to Townsville, I got sick of the progression of non productive people towards the beaches and slowly being nudged off my own beach.

Ciao!
