The Odd Couple.

Banjo and Bonnie often go broody together. So now that Bonnie my silky is fully broody I will set here tonight with 6 chook eggs next to Banjo. In the past when they have hatched ducklings out it's funny to watch these two share their mothering instincts. Banjo watches them while they paddle in a low dish and Bonnie tries to get them to come to her at feed time with her "took took" calls. Not that the ducklings are listening to mother Bonnie.

Nesting area is ready for Bonnie to move into. I like to keep her in the nursery pen, so she doesn't get confused on what nest to sit on and also it protects the young chicks from being attacked or getting lost.
